Champion’s partnership with Rebuilding Together, NextGen Home TV and U.S. Modular will give a deserving veteran a new home.

PHOENIX – January 30, 2015 – “It’s not just about building a home, it’s about changing the life of someone who gave so much for our freedom,” said Rick Boles, General Manager of Champion Homes’ building facility in Chandler, Arizona. Champion Homes is pleased to be part of the “Welcome Home” showcase in partnership with NextGen Home TV, Rebuilding Together and U.S. Modular. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Rebuilding Together's Kickoff to Rebuild project, a Super Bowl sanctioned event, a new modular home built by Champion will be donated to a deserving Phoenix area veteran.

The 1680 sq. ft. home was built by Champion’s 150 employees in Chandler, including nine veterans, who then sent half of the home to the International Builder Show in Las Vegas last week. There, attendees were able to preview the home’s upgraded finishes and sign a welcome home banner for the official reveal and donation this spring. The modular home will be “united” with its other half and open to the public to tour on Saturday, January 31 from 9am until 3pm in the lot between 3rd and 5th Streets on the north side of Roosevelt Street in Downtown Phoenix.

“Our military veterans and their families are some of the most deserving people in our nation,” said Skip Miller, VP of Champion Homes’ West Region. “With each deployment and assignment they give up a part of their life for our united wellbeing. Participating in this project and having the opportunity to donate a beautiful home to a deserving veteran is an incredible honor for Champion and our affiliated retailers across the country.”

Champion’s Chandler facility builds 500 homes a year. The home features significant upgrades including an expansive kitchen with solid surface countertops and island, stainless steel appliances, a farmhouse sink and modern planked ceramic floors throughout. The deserving family will enjoy a luxury master suite, beautiful bathrooms, a pre-wired office, custom exterior, and energy efficient features including a tankless solar-powered water heater and durable metal shingle roof.

As a disabled veteran himself, Boles considers the task of building a customized home for a fellow comrade a chance of a lifetime.

Photo and interview opportunities are available at the event and at Champion’s Chandler manufacturing facility.
