Champion Homes’ Hillcrest IV takes top honors for design at the MHI 2016 National Congress and Expo.

Troy, Mich. May 31, 2016

Champion Home Builders’ Hillcrest IV model has been recognized by the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) for its outstanding design. The Hillcrest took top honors in the “New Manufactured Home Design – Over 1800 SF” category at the organization’s 2016 National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing.

The awards bestowed by MHI recognize excellence and encourage innovation in manufactured and modular home design and production. An independent panel of building professionals judged the entries.

We’re thrilled with the recognition our Hillcrest design earned, It has been extremely popular with our homebuyers in the southwest because of its beauty, diversity and affordability.

David Reed, general manager of the Athens, Texas, plant that manufactures the model

The Hillcrest is part of a family of plans that all possess an outstanding core of great room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and master bath suite. Larger versions can accommodate a fourth or fifth bedroom, den or office, and up to 3 ½ baths. Hillcrest models ranges in size from 1,917 to 2,281 square feet.

“We’ve found that families who choose Champion appreciate exceptional design,” said Roberto Kritzer, Champion’s vice president of corporate design. “The Hillcrest allows them to experience it along a variety of price points, whether they’re looking for something intimate or perhaps something more luxurious.”

As chief designer and winner of multiple awards for his work, Kritzer is a logical choice as the recipient of Champion’s accolades, but the manufactured home builder also places a good deal of credit for the Hillcrest’s success with its retail group, Titan Factory Direct.

“The Titan team recognized an award-worthy design as soon as they saw it,” said Charlie Lohin, sales manager. “They fully embraced Roberto’s vision — not only by inventorying the home, but by going all out in terms of furnishing and marketing it. We can’t stress enough how valuable it is to have a retail partner that committed to a home and to its market. There are many families enjoying the Hillcrest right now because of Titan.”

Lohin added, “One of the great things about manufactured homes is the incredible efficiency they bring to the homebuilding process. But with the Hillcrest’s core design — and the award-winning artistry of our very own Roberto Kritzer — we’ve raised that efficiency to new level.”
